Simulations are experiential learning tools that are context-based and require students to role-play specific actors that have peculiar constraints and unique available actions. Given how effective they were for my Model UN conferences, I have integrated simulations into my other courses as well.

We'll examine a few of the techniques I use and how I incorporated them over the past few years. It does not happen overnight, but with some intentionality, mindfulness practices can help make us more satisfied instructors and ÖйúPÕ¾ employees.

From these experiences teaching diverse content to my students, I have come to realize that my primary ambition is not to impart specific knowledge but to serve as a role model whom my students can trust and learn from in order to grow as individuals.

We realized that students in an English 1101 course would not have the time to research, contextualize, and publish digital history projects on their own. But if students in different classes—on different campuses and from different years—worked together, then they could produce collaborative research focused on our local region.

One of the overarching goals common across COIL projects is developing the intercultural collaborative skills that help students become global citizens.
