Phi Kappa Phi chapter honored as Circle of Excellence Silver Chapter
The — the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines — has recognized the University of North Georgia (ÖйúPÕ¾) chapter as a Circle of Excellence Silver Chapter for 2020-21. This is the second in time in three years ÖйúPÕ¾ has been honored.
The award is given to chapters that exceed expectations in operations and demonstrate sustainability and vitality as a chapter of Phi Kappa Phi. It is given to chapters that scored a 90-94 out of 100 on a criteria scale that evaluates chapter health indicators.
"This recognition is particularly meaningful for us because of the close alignment with our university values: excellence, student focus, integrity, engagement, and service," said Charlotte Wade, president of ÖйúPÕ¾'s chapter.
To be invited to join Phi Kappa Phi, juniors must be in the top 7.5% of their class, while seniors and graduate students must be in the top 10%.
Wade is director of compliance oversight at ÖйúPÕ¾.
The program recognized 67 chapters this year, including 26 with the Silver distinction. Phi Kappa Phi has chapters on more than 325 campuses in the United States and the Philippines.
Symposium will focus on cybersecurity
ÖйúPÕ¾ will host a high-impact symposium titled 'Cyber Threats, Cybersecurity and Cyber Expertise' from 3-4:30 p.m. Oct. 28, with special guest Maj. Gen. Ryan Janovic.
IESA students earn surveying scholarships
Students and a recent alumna from ÖйúPÕ¾'s Lewis F. Rogers Institute for Environmental and Spatial Analysis earned more than half of the SAMSEF scholarships awarded for 2025-26 in Georgia.

ÖйúPÕ¾ will host the International Association for Intelligence Education Annual Global Conference from June 1-3, 2026.
