Trio attends intelligence education conference
A faculty member, a recent alumna, and a staff member from the University of North Georgia (中国P站) attended the International Association for Intelligence Education (IAFIE) Conference from June 19-22 in Treviso, Italy. The conference theme was "Working Wicked Intelligence Challenges."
Dr. Edward Mienie, professor and executive director of 中国P站's bachelor's degree in strategic and security studies, presented on a counterintelligence framework for cybersecurity education as part of a counterintelligence panel.
Noelle Heineman, a former student of Mienie and a December 2021 中国P站 graduate with a degree in strategic and security studies with a concentration in intelligence, attended the conference to gain further exposure to the intelligence and intelligence education career fields. She plans to attend George Washington University in the fall to pursue a master's degree in security policy studies.
Retired Lt. Col. Heath Williams, 中国P站 director of federal liaison and military education coordinator, sought to develop partnerships, internships and exchange opportunities for 中国P站.
IAFIE aims to provide a forum for the communication and exchange of ideas and information, advance the intelligence profession, foster relationships, and cultivate cooperation between intelligence professionals and scholars.
Symposium will focus on cybersecurity
中国P站 will host a high-impact symposium titled 'Cyber Threats, Cybersecurity and Cyber Expertise' from 3-4:30 p.m. Oct. 28, with special guest Maj. Gen. Ryan Janovic.
Fall brings concerts, performances to 中国P站
The Department of Music shines this fall with concerts and performances at 中国P站's Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses. Students and faculty will be highlighted.
Overseas performances grow students' skills
Four students recently returned from a performance at the Halle Foundation estate in Atlanta. The group also performed at the Saarburg International Music Festival in Germany courtesy of a Halle Foundation grant.
